Spawning[]

Chickens naturally spawn on Grass Blocks at Light Level 9 or above.

Behavior[]

Chickens wander aimlessly around the world, and lay Eggs at regular intervals of 5 to 10 minutes. They have only HeartHeart Health, and therefore can be killed easily. After Update 0.11.0, Baby Zombies and Baby Zombie Pigmen can spawn riding a Chicken, creating Chicken Jockeys.

Breeding[]

Chickens are attracted towards all kinds of Seeds. If a Player holds down a Seed onto adult Chickens, they will enter love mode, and two Chickens will Breed.
