A screenshot with 'Hide GUI' switched on.

Hide GUI is an option which hides the Graphical User Interface, which includes the Inventory, the Chat screen, the Health and Armor bars, and other interactive elements not part of Minecraft.

Toggling the option to 'On' does not completely remove the GUI. It is still present, but is invisible. The GUI can still be interacted with if used correctly.

The Hide GUI option.

  • Go into the Pause menu.
  • Select Settings.
  • Select video settings.
  • Tap Hide GUI.

  • This option is useful for when the Player would like gameplay-central images or videos as it hides the Inventory and Health/Armor bars which can be potentially distracting.
  • If the Player hides the GUI, other Players' nametags will also be invisible.
